DD17 Rally Race

DD17 Rally Race Format: The DD17 will be held at Mt. Bachelor, Oregon on December 21st-22nd, 2024. Each racer gets one timed run down the Green or Red course on Saturday and one timed run down opposite course Sunday for a combined final time. Awards Ceremony will be around 3pm at Mt. Bachelor.
New DD17 Helmet Policy: All racers are now required to wear a helmets while racing in the Derby. Keep in mind, we are running our early-season race, on a lava rock volcano, with a very shallow snow pack.
DD17 Registration Rules: The Dirksen Derby will be capped at 500 total racers with an equal amount of spots available to male and female competitors. There are 27 divisions with a maximum of 50 spots per division. Pre-Registration began on May 1st, 2024. Open Registration will begin at 9am PST on October 2nd, 2024 at DirksenDerby.com.
Updated Pro Policy: Derby Elite Pro & Derby Elite Legend divisions are now "Invite Only". Please email info@dirksenderby.com for more info. Amateur racers who won 1st place in a Dirksen Derby amateur division with an overall time that would have placed Top-3 in the Derby Elite Pro Snowboard division (of the same year), are also welcome (and invited) to race with the Derby Elites.
DD17 Invited Racers include:
- Top 30% from the DD16 @ Mt. Bachelor (email invites sent out around May 1st, 2024)
- 1st place at any previous Derby or LBS race *
- Top-10 at 2024 Snake Run Rally @ Hoodoo Ski Area (spots non-transferable) *
- 1st place 2024 Bombhole Cup @ Brighton Ski Area (banked slalom race divisions only) *
- Selected racers from the Soy Sauce Nationals, Side Surfers, SnowGhost, Doug E. Fresh or Don Baker 2024 banked slalom races *
